The processes used by A. D. Johnson are unique. This is not a boastful claim. Photoengraving, as we practice it, has evolved through unparalleled research and development of our product. To our best knowledge, we are the only company that uses the most difficult powdering process in routine production. Yet, it is with this method that we can best protect the image fidelity of the work. Our chemical compounds are proprietary. One organic chemical resin is obtained from a Chinese plant called "Dragon's Blood". The same enigmatic and extraordinary qualities are expressed in the craftsmenship required to execute the etching process. Our craftsmen must understand the unique requirements of each piece of work to determine exact production methods.
